Kibale National Park is a tropical rainforest home to the largest population of chimpanzees in the world. The green forest is the ideal base to visit these primates, with whom we share as much as 98% (!) of our DNA. Some 1,500 chimpanzees live in Kibale, divided into 13 communities.
Kibale is the only place in Uganda where you can do both a Chimpanzee Trekking and Chimpanzee Habituation. This is precisely why the forest is ranked as the best destination in East Africa where travellers can easily observe wild chimpanzees in their natural habitat.
In this article, you will discover all about the location, accommodation and the two types of activities to spend time with the chimpanzees.
