A massive lake with several islands will appear from your cozy terrace, with Congo in the background. When thinking of the expression "lush greenery": this must be it. The name "Birdnest" was chosen because of the original roofs of the hotel rooms that look like... well, a bird's nest 😉 Just a few steps down to the water, you'll see locals on wooden boats and - the best part - also an option to hop on a boat yourself. A must. This was one of the Uganda highlights for me! You'll float next to a local market, local houses, but mostly green fields on several hills. Can't explain it in a better way, just make sure to not skip this magical place!
