This journey along the Opal Coast reminded me why I love road trips so much. It’s this perfect fusion between the automobile and the environment. From the roads lined with steep cliffs to the long stretches of fine sandy beaches, the contrast between land and sea is simply stunning. With its impeccable handling, the MX-5 glides through the curves and sinuous lines of the coastal roads. The ever-changing light of the northern sky and the vibrant colors of the dunes and meadows beautifully complement the sleek lines of the MX-5.
At every stop, camera in hand, I sought to capture this fusion between the raw beauty of the landscapes and the refined aesthetic of the MX-5. The small fishing villages like Wissant or Audresselles, with their typical houses, add a human dimension to this getaway.
I also enjoyed a beautiful stay at "Le Domaine de la Petite Forêt" in Le Touquet, at the Tribe hotel with a spa. It features secure parking and is located in a secluded area between the dunes and the forest, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploration.
A must-do when visiting Le Touquet is the obligatory stop at the design and graphic shop Iodé, Rue de Paris, followed by a drink at O'Safran with my feet in the sand. A quick visit to the equestrian center is also a delightful experience, and finishing with a snack at Abaca is the cherry on top of the day!
