Cambodia

Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is a busy city, offering a completely different vibe compared to the rest of Cambodia. However, it’s definitely worth a visit. Cambodia has a turbulent history during the Khmer Rouge period, and Phnom Penh is the place to learn more about it. A visit to the S21 Tuol Sleng Museum is a must. Phnom Penh is also full of life and a great place to wander around. Make sure to visit the riverside, check out the Royal Palace, and enjoy a walk through the night market. We found BKK1 to be the best area to stay in Phnom Penh. It has great hotels, nice restaurants, and is close to the main attractions.

S21 Tuol Sleng Museum

The S-21 Tuol Sleng Museum is a place you shouldn’t miss. During the Khmer Rouge regime, this former school was turned into a notorious prison and torture center. Thousands of people were held, tortured, and eventually executed here. Out of roughly 20,000 prisoners, only 12 made it out alive. This museum offers an insight into this dark period in Cambodia’s history.
