The Tre Cime di Lavaredo peaks form the impressive backdrop of the Dolomites' most popular hike. Its popularity does mean it's advisable to start the hike well-prepared.
Most importantly, only a limited number of cars is allowed to park at the starting point next to Rifugio Auronzo. Especially during peak season, the toll road (which costs €30 per car) can close down as early as 9am. We arrived just before that and there were 70 of 700 spots left. All in all, the views are definitely unmatched and worth the hustle. The trail that goes around the 3 peaks starts right at the rifugio and can't be missed.
If your legs and feet can still handle it, I would definitely recommend using the opportunity to also hike up to the Cadini di Misurina viewpoint. It only takes about 30 minutes to reach this stunning location, again from the Rifugio Auronzo. Simply follow the path to the right in the direction of the sharp peaks already showing a glimpse of what awaits you.
