You can’t miss out on a safari experience when in South Africa. That’s why we went on a morning and afternoon open 4x4 vehicle safari drive in Pilanesberg National Park. This game reserve is located a little over 2 hours from Johannesburg and is South Africa’s fourth largest park with an area of 55 000 hectares.
You can either go by tour or choose to drive by yourself through the park. We chose to book Mo Africa Tours (R 2495 pp or +/- € 145). We got picked up at 6 in the morning and made it back before sunset. Lunch is included in the price of the tour. We only had 3 other tourists joining us that day, which gave us a lot of freedom while exploring.
We were lucky enough to spot cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, zebras, giraffes, hippos, impalas, kudus and many more animals. If you’re really lucky, you can even see the BIG 5.
