Why we loved Cenote Oxman in Valladolid (and you will too)

Cenote Oxman, located just a short 10-15 minute drive from Valladolid, is one of those hidden gems that feels worlds away from the usual crowds. It's got that quintessential cenote vibe (open, circular, and beautiful) but with the added bonus of being much quieter than other popular spots (like Ik Kil). The highlight for us was definitely the iconic rope swing here. Once we figured out the trick to yanking it back (tip: really pull hard!), we were swinging into the clear, bright water like kids at a playground. Well, Kelvin was 😉
The water at Oxman is surprisingly warm compared to some cenotes, and with plenty of sunlight filtering through the trees, it’s perfect for a relaxing swim. What makes Oxman even better is how much more laid-back it feels compared to more crowded cenotes. There’s something magical about swimming in the cool waters, surrounded by the sound of small birds flitting through the trees. The vibe is peaceful, and we almost had the place to ourselves when we arrived early.
Oh, and don’t forget: access to the upstairs pool is included with your ticket, where you can cool off or grab a snack. Oxman Cenote is the perfect mix for those seeking a bit of adventure, while still having plenty of space to relax.
