Because our host knew we were coming, they'd also arranged for the restaurant across the road to be open, just for us. We felt super welcomed by the locals, both human and feline, and it felt so good to have a nice cold beer and a warm meal after such a long day of hiking. The seascape in front of Kabak Misafir Evi Restaurant was also out of this world, so even if it gets cold, it's definitely worth staying to watch the sunset!

Pydnai Village - Cabins in the wood

Another accommodation that hadn't officially opened for the season, we were still welcomed with open arms and a cup of home-made tea by the owner Ali and his mother. And later they really went all out for dinner. We were of course the only people there, but with just a handful cabins spread around in the forest, I can imagine even in the high season this remains a very peaceful place to stay. The best of the Lycian Way - Hiking Türkiye's iconic long-distance trail

The Lycian way stretches more than 400 km along the coast of Türkiye and, after being on my radar for quite some time, we finally decided to tackle its best sections in late February 2025. It ended up being such a surprising trip - a unique combination of hiking, spectacular coastal views, local culture, fresh mountain air and historical highlights such as the ancient city of Olympos and the rock tombs of Myra.
